Located conveniently off the interstate, this property offers clean rooms and helpful staff for budget travelers, though guests frequently report severe issues with cleanliness, security, and bait-and-switch pricing. The hotel incurs high negative attention regarding pests, rudeness from front desk personnel, and security concerns in both rooms and the parking lot.

People were smoking weed in other rooms and the smell came into ours. We had a 2-bed room, but as soon as we got back that night the front desk called asking for more money because there was an additional guest. The room itself was beat up — looked like they held a cage match in there. The whole place felt pretty sketchy. Wouldn’t stay again.

The rooms are extremely basic which is normal for this price range, but the place felt unsafe. The door didn’t seem secure and it had holes. Noise could be heard from outside and the air conditioning unit was noisy. Worst of all was the guest experience at check-in. The lady who handled the night check-ins was extremely unpleasant, was speaking to someone in Indian the whole time and didn’t seem welcoming at all. I can live with basic accommodations and understand that updates cost money. But poor service and cleanliness are totally unacceptable. It doesn’t cost much but it reflects how they view guests. I was really happy with Choice Hotels after staying in Sleep Inn at Asheville, but I’ll never stay at an EconoLodge. Absolutely appalling!

As a Choice member, I have never stayed in such a disappointment. There are queen size beds with two small pillows. I dealt with that, but the roaches running is another story. I called the first desk to complain and she offered to move me to the second floor, but I'm not able to climb the steps. So she says well today is your check out date. Jesus, take the wheel! I had to give the phone to my son. I'm a paying customer and because my disability doesn't allow me to climb the steps, I'm told it's my check out date.

On arrival we were checked in by a young woman with la horrible attitude, and upon entering the room we were greeted by the worst cleaning job we have ever seen. The floor appeared to not have been swept, there were fingerprints and water spots on furniture and appliances, and the sheets and blankets had multiple cigarette burn holes in them. We initially alerted a member of the house cleaning staff who was passing by, who told us that she wasn't the the last one to clean the room and that we needed to call the front desk. So nevertheless she did not help us. The front desk sent a maintenance man who barely swept the floor, but did change the sheets and blankets. There were roaches, and a build up of dirt on the surfaces that you will see on the photos I will post. We would have gotten a refund and cancelled the reservation but we were in town for my Dad's funeral and didn't want any more of a hastle.

The price was great, but the room wasn’t. I wouldn’t stay there again. I slept in all my clothes and I couldn’t get comfortable. It’s more of a motel vibe. I didn’t eat breakfast at all. My room had stains on the out-dated furniture, broken iron, stains and trash on the floor. When cleaning the rooms they definitely don’t move the beds. With TLC and management sticking on the cleaning staff, they can probably make a come back. But for now, I wouldn’t tell anyone to stay here.

Location right off the interstate I85 was great. However I'm giving low reviews because I'm not a fan of bait and switch.. Like most people I'm on a budget and after a long day of traveling just looking for a nice cost-effective place to lay my head and this econo Lodge pops up $70 a night. On my phone from econo Lodge itself not a third party booking site. Little bit of a price difference when I show up and there are rooms available at around midnight and it's $110 a night that's not a $10 or a $20 difference. It's significant. Now for the second half of the review being charged $110 a night for a hotel, that's a $50 a night room.. literally cigarette burn holes on the blankets and pillows. Going to the bathroom and the toilet not bolted down literally rocking as you're sitting on it room 208 by the way.. And I've been known to overlook visual appearances of hotel rooms. If you can get one great place like good water pressure and a nice shower.. average water pressure at best But as we're in our first few 40° evenings. Nice hot shower would have felt great and the water just barely got warm so.. Mediocre at best, shower. It's $110 Old bed, burn holes on blankets barely usable bathroom.. Definitely a dated room.. Always a huge plus at least no bugs I'm sure that's a deal breaker for a lot of people.. the best part of the stay.. At least the TV worked and had a working remote.. Again, I would not be so brutal on my review if this was a $50 A night hotel.. But it's not. other places to stay in the area and above that $100 price range. I will gladly spent my money there instead at this Econo Lodge ever again if I'm in the area... Writing this review the morning about an hour after I left the hotel on 11 /2/ 25

This was the first hotel I've stayed in as a female alone and frankly I think I'm traumatized to go anywhere near a hotel now. The clerk was fine, it was a little hard to understand her. She told me I needed a $100 cash deposit but unfortunately their atm was out of service so I had to drive up the road and come back, after that small hassle of getting the deposit in and not being able to understand her I headed to the room. I ate my dinner and was about to shower when I noticed a ROACH run across the floor, I followed it to the AC where dozens more started to appear. I got freaked out and immediately wanted to just sleep in my car, before the roaches were seen I noticed the room looked very grim and not very clean but I didn't quite care due to being so tired and only there for the night. I read through the paper she gave me and realized I had no choice but to stay at this hotel because you have 10 MINUTES after checking in to ask for a refund, that is not enough time at all especially if you have a family with you. I politely asked for a different room after showing proof of roaches and was granted that, thankfully my next room did not have bugs but again.. it was grim and not well cleaned. While taking a shower I swear it smelt like sweaty balls the whole time I was showering, you can tell these people just give these rooms a quick sweep and wipe before giving it to someone else. On top of the rooms not being that clean.. the beds are horrendous, felt like I was laying on a rock! I left this hotel with hardly any sleep, skin crawling and completely dissatisfied. I strongly suggest staying far away from this poorly managed hotel even if youre a single person like me just wanting some sleep, sleep in your car and shower at the gym before coming to this hotel.

I had a wonderful stay. The room was clean and nice. It was quiet if they were fully packed. It was kind of hard to get a parking spot but the lady at the desk was nice enough to be able to look at the cameras and tell me where to park and find an easy way to my room because I didn't get there till late and the day I checked out. Overslept, because I set my alarm clock to the wrong time. But the office woke me up and got me going early, where I wasn't charged to late fee. Can I release? Had a nice day.

The room was clean. The air conditioner was perfect. The staff was nice. Even offer a Continental style breakfast... For the price it was straight!

I’m not surprised this place has this many stars. The front desk woman was extremely rude when we checked in. I asked if I could have a first floor room since my son has special needs and she gave me a look like she was disgusted. The room we got stunk of cigarettes and when I asked for a different room I was given more attitude. I had to ask for help from a hotel worker who was outside. The sweet gentleman helped me get a new room on the first floor. When it came to getting a new key. I was told late check out is a $20 fee and I said that’s fine I can do that and she said no and I was denied a late check out. I guess you don’t want more money haha. Next morning I went to get breakfast for my son but was told I couldn’t bring it to my room and that I have to eat it there. I said it was for my son who has special needs and was told still you have to eat it here. So I threw it all away. I was absolutely appalled.
