The Super 8 by Wyndham Salisbury receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising its convenience and affordability, while others report significant issues including bed bugs, cleanliness problems, and unprofessional staff behavior. Recent reviews highlight frequent complaints about noise, breakfast quality, and a generally dated property. While some experiences were positive, the overall sentiment leans towards disappointment.
The Manager Dixon, was very helpful to all my requests. The Desk clerk Justin was very helpful as well. The room was clean and the Jaccuzi was delightful. The housekeepers were friendly and very thorough. I will stay here again.
We have stayed multiple times with no issues. Service is great. Front desk guy or the owner, (I’m unsure) is very pleasant and professional. Location is “Super” convenient. ? You can hear the traffic, but it honestly didn’t bother my crowd and it was like a white noise at night for sleep. Pancake maker for breakfast was “Super”. lol So fun to watch! We enjoy the pool area several times but wish there was some more seating area. And clean towels need to be stocked in the pool area. Other than that, no complaints. Rooms were very clean and comfy.
Hotel has bed bugs. And once you show them the bed bugs. You still can’t receive a refund. I ended up sleeping in my vehicle with bug bites on my are. Because of this nasty hotel. I don’t recommend anyone to stay here.
I understand they cant really do anything about people stomping around. BUT when they only have like 4 cars in the lot, they should at least try to stagger the rooms so someone isnt on top of you or right beside you. You can hear everythinggg here ? Decent enough rooms for the price.
The beds were AWFUL....now I wasn't expecting great...but these soooo bad. Not only bad, but you roll over and it sounds like the cript keeper is opening accident door under your bed. The breakfast was almost non existent....apples and toast. Plus they lock the front door at night and I was locked out getting something from my car....the side door is supposed to be open and employee was baffled because that was locked too.
It's "okay" at best, they have rooms with clean linens, and a small pool. The breakfast, if you want to call it that, is available but very limited, it includes toast, instant oatmeal, prepackaged muffins and your choice of apple juice or orange juice, sometimes they have fresh fruit. That's it, nothing else other than coffee. I've literally had way better breakfast in army field exercises. They require a $100 cash deposit to check in but their ATM was out of order. Honestly everything they advertise as having is more of a "check the block" sort of thing. I think I'll skip this place next time.
Checkin was fine. All the parking is in the back. Keycards failed to unlock the back door. Walked about two hundred feet to the front to have keys reprogrammed. I was told the back door was for exiting only. I wanted to ask why did the door have a key card reader if it was exit only but refrained to show how stupid it was to mislead people and how pissed I was for that. As I walked around I passed be an open door that I could have gone in but kept on to front desk thinking I needed to have the cards reprogrammed and to go to my room to find the cards didn't work would have really pissed me off. The room is okay, it had all the usual amenities except a clock, which is pretty much unnecessary today with all the electronics most people have. The room was clean. Constant traffic noise from the Interstate. The bathroom is large and very accommodating for handicapped people. Breakfast was pitiful. Orange and apple juice, maybe coffee. Packs of cereal, no milk or a refrigerator for cold items. Two pack of blueberry and chocolate chip muffins, sliced bread.
Just don’t bother. Room was 90 degrees on arrival. They said they have breakfast. Thy have toast and instant oatmeal. Cigarette burns all over non smoking room. Dirty too.
I would give 0 stars if I could. I really want to love this place because it’s somewhat of an ok place but the owner is so rude and followed us around and nitpicked everything. We stayed a couple days and was harassed about everything. We recently went back and upon arrival, they were already starting to hawk stay one day and that morning they did not have breakfast what they do have. I was approached right before check out very rudely by the owner and saying you are not allowed on my property. I kicked you out last time because you had a friend stop by and bring me something to eat and he said I was not allowed to have guests so I was now on the list for ban. The worst business owner ever.
Terrible Experience – Do Not Rely on This Hotel We had a confirmed reservation for 3 rooms at the Super 8 in Salisbury, NC, as we were traveling with a van full of family members to attend the funeral of a loved one. Due to traffic, we were delayed, but we called ahead to let the hotel know we were still coming. Despite this, the manager and an employee named Justin canceled our rooms without notifying us. When we arrived after a 10-hour drive, they coldly informed us that our reservation had been canceled because, in their words, “it was a Friday night, their highest earning night.” There was no courtesy call, no attempt to check on our status, and absolutely no remorse when we showed up late at night with grieving family members and nowhere to stay. This was not only unprofessional but heartless. Avoid this place if you expect your reservation to be honored or if you’re looking for even basic decency from hotel staff.
