Cobble Hill Campground receives mixed reviews, with recent positive feedback highlighting its peaceful atmosphere, friendly staff, and family-friendly amenities like a pool and dog park. However, recurring concerns center around site maintenance, long-term resident upkeep, and inconsistent facility functionality, particularly regarding the bathhouses and WIFI. Some guests reported issues with site leveling and a lack of responsiveness from management.
We stayed here while my husband was working nearby. We arrived after hours so I stopped at the office to get the after hours packet. There wasn’t one but I remembered they told me I would be in site 92. I drive separately than my husband and he pulls the rv. I rode around until I found site 92. There was someone in it. I quickly called the number and got someone for after hours on the phone. She told me we were moved to site 90. I told her I saw site 90 and we would need assistance to get in that site. She made it happen quickly and Kristy I believe was her name and her boyfriend came over right away to help us. I will say the trees need trimming to make it more manageable to get into some of the sites, And please be aware this is NC and lots are not all level so you need to know what you are doing as far as driving and setting up your RV for a comfortable stay. Or ask the park for help as I did see them helping someone set up their RV. After all was said and done we really enjoyed our stay and the lot we were in was very large and peaceful. I noticed the people that worked at the park actively doing things to improve the park daily. I also appreciated the dumpsters being emptied regularly and never over flowing as I have experienced in other parks. We would definitely stay here again.
My husband just took our 5th wheel camper to Cobble Hill campground for our son Noah Allen to live in for a while #26 site is what he was given. Very little space in between to do much of anything with a picnic table with one seat and the other side where another seat should be are huge nails sticking up through the wood!! Noah works in Charlotte and his hours usually 12noon til 9pm. Takes over hour to get home at night. Pitch dark out there at his #26 camp site. So I told him to leave outside lights on until he was back his camper and inside safely and then he could turn off. Well Noah told me he had a c/o because lights were on and they were too bright!!! You never know what or is beside you or behind you in a Campground And it’s so dark you can’t see to walk from one place to another. He needs lights. Noah closes blinds at night, others should do the same!! My husband also said the site he was given was so steep he could not get the camper level!!! When a better and more private site becomes available I would appreciate you moving Noah to that site! This is really outrageous the false advertising you have online of this wonderful clean campground with all these amenities but there’s not much truth there is it? This is the most unkept campground I’ve ever seen and heard of!! Clean it up!! We will be looking for a better place for our young man! You need lights in a campground!!!! I left message for you to call me but no response. Shelia and Stephen Allen for Noah Allen #26 camp site.
We had a disappointing 1-night stay in late September. Staff cordially welcomed us with the usual info and directed us to site 4. We found the gravel site was far from level in 2 directions. One empty site next to us had an abandoned small refrigerator and old sewer hose. The bath house and laundry across the lane was not functional and the one working bath house was at the far end of the park. While we did not tour the loop beyond the pond, many of the sites we did see seemed to be occupied by long-term or year-round residents, suggesting Cobble Hill is somewhat an RV version of a mobile-home park. After 5:30 or so, we saw a lot of homecoming traffic, and soon the WIFI, which was slow to start with, ground to a halt, unusable. In all, it was quiet at night, affordable and conveniently situated off Rt. 601, but we would likely look elsewhere for other options when travelling through the area.
Not very well kept. A nice courtesy would have been to blow off all the dead leaves and cleaned out the fire pit before our arrival. My husband had to do it to see where he needed to park the camper. Our view of the pond was nice but the view of the old not maintained campers was disgusting. I get you want long term renters. But make them clean up their site. Makes the whole campground look like trash. Too bad. The pool area is run down and green water. Your pictures have totally falsely advertised. Very disappointing. Too bad because it could so much better.
I have been treated very kindly and I was worried because I read some old reviews but this place is nothing like what I have read. everybody has been very helpful and friendly and the whole campground is so quiet. I couldn't be happier with my experience.
My fiancé and I moved into the park on March 21st, 2024, we then stayed until May of 2025. At the beginning the park was beautiful and the staffing was amazing. They soon had me join in as a part time summer hand as well as my finance turning into the cleaner, who would come and clean the cabins. We began to consider Cobble Hill home to us, with a great community and atmosphere. However, during the winter of 2024 and spring of 2025, the park began turning to shambles. The management life began changing which entail her leaving her husband and beginning a relationship with the maintenance worker. This relationship led to the maintenance worker not keeping up with the property. The bath houses pipes began to freeze, the septic system continually backed up, the lawn was barely mowed (they ended up hiring an outsource lawn care company in the middle of spring). The laundry room works some days and not others. It was closing during the super cold days of the winter because the laundry room isn't insulated properly. When we left it wasn't because we wanted too. We had lodged a complaint with corporate regarding the issues that continued for multiple months. We were asked to leave, said they were excersizing their right to terminate a month to month lease at any time. We left around may 17th 2025 due to the backlash from management and corporate. During our stay there we were also harassed by the maintenance worker during our time there as well after once considering as close as family. What once began as a family atmosphere turned into the environment from hell. We wanted cobble hill to be home however as that is not in the cards we are happy to be traveling the country and exploring with our two pups!
Its Memorial Day weekend and they have a water slide for the kids. Kids are absolutely having a great time! Thank you Kristy and George you guys rock!!! We've been living here since October and we love it. When we first moved in we had a problem with our electric and Kristy and George came right out and fixed it. They are very hard workers and they love their job here and treat everyone very well. We absolutely enjoy living here and the kids are so happy. The kids loved the Easter brunch and Easter egg hunt Kristy and George put together for everyone.
My husband and I absolutely loved our visit here! The atmosphere was super cozy quiet and welcoming — it was such a peaceful little getaway. Lots of space on the property. The lake at night with the lights reflecting on the water was absolutely beautiful. The staff were so kind and helpful which made the stay even better. Such a wonderful experience, we will definitely be coming back!
We loved our recent stay at Cobble Hill Campground! Our campsite was super spacious and had a peaceful, woodsy vibe that made it feel like a true escape. The kids had an absolute blast so much room to run around and play & I got some much needed peaceful reading time in. Our dog even had fun at the adorable little dog park! It’s such a family-friendly spot, and everything was clean and well-kept. We’ve already scheduled some time back in 2026! We can't wait!
A Hidden Gem in Nature – Perfect Getaway! Cobble Hill Campground is absolutely incredible! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the peaceful setting, clean facilities, and welcoming atmosphere. The sites are spacious and well-maintained, with just the right amount of privacy. Whether you're tent camping or bringing an RV, everything you need is right here. The staff is friendly, attentive, and genuinely cares about making your stay comfortable. We especially loved the nearby trails and scenic views—perfect for morning walks and evening campfires under the stars. It’s the kind of place where you can truly unplug and relax. We’ve already recommended Cobble Hill Campground to friends and family, and we’ll definitely be coming back. If you’re looking for a well-kept, quiet, and beautiful place to unwind, this is it!
