The Turn of the Century Bed and Breakfast offers a charming and historic stay, meticulously restored by owner Karen. Guests consistently praise the warm hospitality, delicious breakfasts, and unique Victorian-era ambiance. It’s a particularly well-suited option for travelers seeking a memorable and comfortable experience in Salisbury, NC.
Owner was so involved in this restoration. Everything was perfect. The house was built in 1905 and the victorian restoration is exquisite. The hostess is very interactive and personally oversaw the restoration. We had a delicious breakfast. Our room on the second floor was large. Even though the room was decorated in the Victorian style, the shower was modern and great. In order to keep the period style the room had a unique layout. There is offstreet parking. We were given homemade cookies for our departure.
Karen was a very caring and charming host. Rooms were clean and fairly well maintained for an older restoration that was done just right. Her attention to detail and true love of the home shows thru ought. Karen's muffins are to die for and my wife cant stop raving about them. If you ask nice enough she might give you a tour of her kitchen were her wonderful creations are made from her own coffee blend thru breakfast items. I stayed there 1 night but my wife stayed 2 as I was having an operation at the VA hospital. We will be back to stay again under better circumstances. Can't wait. Thank you Karen.
Absolutely Amazing! We have stayed in 3 different rooms and they have never disappoint. Karen is a wonderful host, welcoming you with her warmth and big smile. Breakfast is fantastic. Kelly & Steve
LOVED my weekend there!!! Antiques galore!! Owner Karen takes such good care of her guests and geeez this woman can cook!! I will be going back
Turn of the Century and Karen are a dream! My partner and I stayed in early October for an event down the street, and couldn't be happier with our stay. The room and bathroom were large, clean, cozy, and historic of course. I was even more delighted to learn that Turn of the Century had won a Carraway Award many years ago from my employer, Preservation NC! Twist! On the way out, we were presented with cookies for the road, very sweet. Karen is also charming, quirky, thoughtful, funny, knowledgeable, warm, and quick to respond. Highly recommend!
Stayed here for a quick business trip, and couldn’t have chosen a better place. Karen is so friendly and helpful, and you can see and feel all the love and passion she put in to her inn! The rooms are beautifully decorated and make you feel like you are sleeping in a museum. Karen knows everything about all the furniture that she has sourced, which is super interesting! Breakfast was delicious and fresh in the morning, and Karen made sure to discuss dietary restrictions as applicable. She even packed up some snacks for me to bring to the airport! Would recommend this to anyone looking for a unique and comfortable right-at-home style stay!!
Turn of the century was comfortable and immaculately clean. Breakfast each morning was superb. My wife and I enjoyed having our coffee in the front porch rocking chairs after a good walk around historic Salisbury. The reason for our trip was a funeral and hostess Karen helped make our trip a great deal easier. Thank you Karen.
I booked this stay very last minute. I was struggling to find accommodations for the night of a wedding my fiancé and I attended that wasn’t a $300+ mediocre hotel in Winston-Salem. Luckily, I found Turn of the Century and Karen! I was so excited when I called and not only did she have vacancy, but it was very affordable! This house is stunning! The breakfast was superb, and Karen is a great host and incredible conversationalist! We will be looking to return before we move out of the area! Highly recommend!
I stayed at Turn of the Century with all of my bridesmaids the night before my wedding and then my husband joined the night of my wedding. I had the Rose Room which was my favorite but each room is special, decorated with beautiful, antique pieces. Everyone absolutely loved their experience. It was perfect for us in every way. Location is awesome, Karen’s commitment to service is unmatched, and the breakfast was top notch both days.
