My husband and I always enjoy our time at the Thoreau Cabin! We love the vibe of the entire property and want to stay in one of the yurts in the future! We appreciate Ellen letting us stay and would love to continue coming! We want to share this place with everyone we know that will appreciate it!!

We were looking for a place with a hot tub or two person tub and this was well worth the trip from our NC beach area home. We ate at the gold hill fat Mack’s grill which was very good. Unfortunately we didn’t get to the village’s shops or general store. We visited NC transportation museum, and took the light rail into Charlotte center city convention center for an event. And of course, spent a lot of time relaxing in the jacuzzi tub. There are also some books available to borrow in the room and some useful things on the bookshelf by the door. The area very peaceful and quiet

Absolutely loved staying here! This was a great getaway for me and my pup. We explored the grounds and had a nice fire too. Highly recommend!

las fotos no coinciden con el lugar. no hay higiene en el lugar no soy muy fan de los sanitarios de composta pero en mi opinión seria mejor que estuviera afuera de la cabaña para una mejor comodidad. y no recomendaría este lugar definitivamente

Me and my Husband stayed 2 nights for our anniversary and I feel like we couldn't of picked a better place. No TVS, and No loud noise. Ms Ellen was amazing she may stay on the property but you won't know she's there. It's only 3 miles from town and the drive to town is so beautiful. I think it's safe to say we have found our new get away spot ????

This place is so peaceful and powerful! There is so much to be [curious, patience, intentional] while you go and engage in spiritual reflection, action, and exploration. AWESOME! Ellen and Murphy are perfect hosts!!
